over the last 8 years that i have owned this book i have relied on its resources numerous times. form finding out the writer of "The Best of Times" by Styx (wm) Dennis Young, to one of Jerome Kern's 70+ songs, i find it awesone, i am still finding things that i missed over the last few years while looking at it. 5Amazing Resource and Incredibly Valuable Book  Apr 07, 2011 By J. Gibson
I've used this book more in the last several years than any other music book in my library of music books because it is so incredibly useful. I just used it this morning to help make a list of tunes from the 1930s for an event I'm playing, and I use it that way all the time. Handy, accurate, succinct listings for thousands of songs, with all the specifics you'd need--including who made it popular. I've bought many copies of this book for gifts, and just bought myself a 2nd copy in case something happens to my older version. If you play or are interested in popular music, you'll love this book and you'll refer it frequently.

4CONCISE GUIDE TO COMPOSERS AND LYRICISTS  Nov 13, 2010 By Barry McCanna
This book does what it says on the cover, plus noting if the song was featured in a film or play, who sang it in that medium, who first recorded it, cover versions, and revivals. If you're looking for more then this will leave you dissatisfied, but if you're looking for a reference work plain and simple, which packs in an awful lot of titles, then buy with confidence.
