Good book for begineers Nov 08, 2007
By D. Lucio
"AudioHolic"
I used this book as the text book for my students who are church volunteers that want to help operating the sound system. I liked the graphics and that it covers the basic without trying to make you a full audio engineer with proper education. AND, that is cheap! NOTE, this is really basic for people who is just starting and want to learn the basics about sound systems. Definitely you will need to go somewhere else if you are looking for more advanced or detailed information.

Good Starting Place Dec 08, 2004
By William F. Harding Jr. As the title implies, this is a good publication for the beginner. The most significant information needed to get started right away is presented in clear, non-jargon language.

Live Sound Basics May 01, 2009
By Dennis J. Townsend I found this book to be the ultimate text to hand a beginner in the field of live sound mixing. The illustrations and detailed explanations guide the reader to a full understanding of the usage and operation of the different types of equipment used. The information given is detailed enough to help the reader understand the basics of sound mixing, but not so deep that it comes off as a technical textbook for a theater tech class. I would recommend this book for those who are just entering the field, those who are taking theater classes, and for veterans as this can be a great quick reference manual.

Simple, but ideal for beginners Jun 12, 2010

If you just bought your mixer and have no idea what to do with it, this book is for you. It's really simple, what makes it ideal for young engineers. People with absolutely no experience will be able to mix a live band right away with this book.
Brief & to the point Nov 25, 2011
By Hyperboli I'm a drummer who has been accumulating PA equipment for several years. Even after reading several in-depth books on sound reinforcement I found this manual to be handy. A nice basic reference.
