5Hit Songwriter Says This is His Best Rhyming Dictionary  Aug 06, 2010 By Lou Quacious "Independent Individual"
Ignore the one star review. It's obviously not written by a daily songwriter.

I have been a professional songwriter for 30 years. I have #1 hits under my belt. This is THE ONE RHYMING DICTIONARY I HAVE COUNTED ON FOR DECADES. It works. Here's why: Syllable count is EVERYTHING when trying to fit rhymes to lines!

This book groups words by the number of syllables each word contains.

Each basic vowel sound has its own section. Then those sound sections are split into two sections; one for masculine rhymes (1 syllable rhymes like ATE: fate, ber-ATE, oper-ATE) and one for feminine rhymes (2 syllable rhymes like ATION: n-ATION, cit_ATION, imagi-ATION.)

THEN for each vowel sound, it splits up all these rhyming words by syllable count!! So "-ATION" rhymes nation, abrasion, and sanitation are found in separate sections for 2, 3 and 4 syllable words. 2= Nation, ration, Haitian; 3= abrasion, sensation, creation; 4= sanitation, ventilation, moderation.
they're already grouped together. You don't have to sort through a long list of irrelevant words for your task.

Get THIS one unless you can find another rhyming dictionary that does the same thing! I can't.

4Love it!  Jun 04, 2006 By Tolerable Music
This is my favorite rhyming dictionary for songwriting. I've used it for about 12 years and am about to buy a second copy to replace my first one. The organization by vowel sound is nice and rhymes are also organized by number of syllables, double / triple rhymes, etc. Using this book in tandem with my Thesaurus, I've written many, many great songs.

1A horrible source for songwriting.  Apr 04, 1999
I have used several books similar to this one as reference guides in writing songs and this one in particular was absolutely horrid. I strongly advise you not to buy it.
