What a great book! Jul 03, 2004
By Samuel W. Ecoff

As a private piano teacher, I couldn't imagine a more helpful book for promoting my small business! The author clearly explains why it is so vital to promote your teaching studio, and then provides hundreds and hundreds of great ideas that will help you to have a full studio and a full waiting list. His cheerful and enthusiastic style make this a quick and easy read. Mr. Johnstone tells you exactly how, where, and when to advertise, and offers suggestions as to other promotions. Far from expecting you to cold call or knock on doors, his creative ideas allow even shy teachers to help themsevles by helping others, so there is something in this book for every comfort level. My experience was that this book paid for itself in the first week I owned it! If you are a private music teacher (any instrument), you must own this book!

Great Resource for the Home Studio Teacher. Oct 16, 2005

This is a very practical guide for those music teachers trying to step out of the occasional role to full time home studio status. I was very impressed with the on target tips about networking and utilizing community resources to expand the `word-of-mouth' reach of your marketing efforts. If nothing else, this guide should offer you some validation for what you've done right, and ideas for what you've overlooked. Worth every penny.

A GREAT Resource for any Music Studio! Feb 20, 2005
By Ashton Piano Studio This is a MUST HAVE book for any private music teacher! Mr. Johnstone has done a terrific job of putting together practical and USEFUL marketing techniques. After moving to a small rural town from a large suburban area, I found myself with only 6 piano students. Using the ideas from this book, I KNOW my studio will continue to grow and prosper! I HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone looking to have that "edge" that is needed to compete with other music teachers in their area.

Great Book! Mar 29, 2007
By R. Lucas I was a little skeptical when I ordered this book, but it's full of really good ideas. Philip Johnston has a good grasp on getting your studio business up to speed and keeping it there. I've read several books on the subject, but this one is by far the best. Even if you were to implement only one or two of his ideas it would be well worth the cover price.
