Book is as Presented Sep 02, 2009
By J. Burns I don't doubt that the other reviewer may have received the "older" version of this music book. I just received it and it is the revised edition with the "colorful" cover. My experience with Amazon since its inception has been mostly good - if what I had received was not what was presented on the site, I'm sure Amazon would correct the problem.
Kindle not good!! May 16, 2012
By J Mhr The music is so small on the Kindle display it is virtually useless. I admit, I bought it as an experiment as we already have the book. Of course, no CD either, though the Kindle plays audio and it could easily be achieved, yet overlooked - no music. This is so poorly executed the person responsible should be ashamed.
Oh, and I did try the "Sample" however you only get to read the introduction - no sheet music sample - and the introduction text is easily read. Once you get into the body of the book, which you don't see in the sample, you need a microscope to read the sheet music.
Utterly worthless effort, and total waste of money.
So economical Feb 03, 2012
By acocoringa In Japan,Dr.Suzuki violin textbook costs 30dollors at least, without CDS,and never have a bargain sale,so,this is economy price.
volume2 contents;cholus from Judas Maccabeaus,Musette,Hunters chorus,Long long Ago,Walts,Bouree,The Two Greanadies,Theme from Wiches Dance,Gavotte from Mignon,Gavotte,Mienuet in G,Mienuet,Intervals,New Musical Terms,Sources
If you can read a score, you don't need a CD.and this is for kids, easy score. And if you cant read a score,to rely upon CD too much is dangerous. it's realy helpful and you wont be able to read a score in the future.

"liberty bell"
This is still the gold standard for learning to play violin. What more can be said? Listen, Listen, Listen to help you play. CD enclosed.

There is no cd. Dec 20, 2011
By Paul Osborn The cd was not included in the book, so I had to pay $13 more for the cd. Like the other guy said, the cd is perfect reference for a learning student. But I guess the book would cost $21 vs $7 with out the cd.
