5Awesome Book!  Jan 13, 2005 By Johnny
A book for ANY bassist who wants or aspires to become a studio player. There is something to learn from each of the famous studio guys, and I really like the "behind the glass" section with a producer and engineer talking about what is needed from the bass on a session. Keith Rosier has written another good one here.

5SUPER BASS BOOK  Jan 13, 2005 By Johnny
I bought this book/CD so I could learn how to be a studio bass player. It has made a better player, period. This kind of info is usually learned over a long career, but here it is laid out in an easy to understand way. All Keith Rosier books are awesome

4Studio Bass Masters  Jun 12, 2000
This enlightening and practical book/CD set features firsthand discussions with 12 of today's best Electric & Upright studio bassists. These pros give you personal advice, insights, basslines, and openly discuss specific recording experiences, playing techniques, preferred equipment, and more to help you avoid the problems most session bassists face.

From "the other side of the glass" a Grammy-winning producer, and an engineer describe what's expected of bass players in the studio, and outline the recording process from song selection to final mix. Many electric and upright bass techniques are discussed, including rock-a-billy slap style.
