 Fair, but nothing extraordinary Oct 31, 2007

Steve Cropper truly is a guitar super hero for me. So my grade of three stars has nothing to do with the quality of the music. This book features musical notation and tab for a list of songs that Steve Cropper played and sometimes co-wrote.
However, the book doesn't seem to be very educative in that they're picking certain songs that are very typical for his playing. And Otis Reddings "Fa-Fa-Fa (Sad Song)" is featured without any tab at all.
There's no CD included, so you have to get hold of the songs yourself.
All in all, if you've been trying (or wanting) to play some Memphis soul songs and need some help and pointers to understand and hear what Cropper actually is doing on the fretboard - fine, this book can help you a bit.
I don't regret buying this book, but I feel I'm learning more about playing like Steve Cropper from studying books by Dave Rubin. (Birth of the Groove, The Best of Soul Guitar etc).
