5Fun for seasoned songwriters, and a must read for beginners.  Aug 21, 1998
Having writers block? This book is filled with fantastic exercises to help get those creative juices flowing. If on the other hand, you are new to songwriting, this is a must read.. You'll get lots of great songwriting tips and tricks from this Berkley College of Music professor... without the tuition.

5A must-have for beginners and pros alike.  Oct 08, 1998
This book is as close as you can get to experiencing the process of songwriting with Barbara Jordan live. Through a series of playful, imaginitive, creative and effective excercises, you will find yourself having more fun and getting more done with superior results than you have since you were a kid.

Rather than teach specific "rules" of writing or giving lessons, Barbara has created a series of excercises designed to let your creative juices flow like you never thought possible with exciting and remarkable results. Whether you are contemplating writing songs for the very first time or you are a seasoned writer going through a mental drought, this book, like no other, will produce the results you want and need the most. We couldn't give any book a higher recommendation.

5Get those creative juices flowing!  Feb 07, 2000 By David J. Bondelevitch "bondelev"
A great book that inspires non-linear thinking as an approach to creativity, and ow it applies to writing songs!

5The songwriting book you've been waiting for  Jul 29, 2011 By Music fan "musfan"
As a professional songwriter with thirty years of experience, I can't say enough good things about this remarkable book. Far from being another dry "how-to" tome, "The Songwriter's Playground" delves deeply into the art, craft, and sheer joy of songwriting. The prose style is deft and cuts straight to the point, making it perfect for aspiring as well as established writers. Ms. Jordan's concept of the Song Dialogue (outlined in the third section) is alone worth the price of the book; the idea of developing your intuitive process to the point of allowing the song to 'speak' to you is nothing less than revolutionary.

The author's passion for writing shines through on every page. A true inspiration. Five starts are not enough!

5Fantastic Songwriting book  Apr 13, 2011 By C. Slaughter "Wiseshopper"
I recently bought this book on Amazon. It truly gives you all the tools you need if you are beginning songwriter, or if experienced, you'll find useful, innovative, unusual and fun exercises which will charge your songwriting battery and stimulate your creativity. However you might have been writing before, you will find new angles to your writing.
