Great Book - stick with it! Jul 24, 2011
By Philip I have had this book since its first printing and have played from it occasionally over the years. I have been making an effort to learn all the songs in this book and really appreciate how the techniques and musical are gradually introduced by degree of difficulty.

Don't buy it for the Kindle... Aug 27, 2011
By Tinfoot It's okay... but the one thing is that the preview of it on the Kindle didn't include how any of the music was presented. And well, I didn't really think it through. Perhaps on the DX with its bigger screen, it would be readable, but on the standard smaller sizes, even with it set to landscape, full "zoom", its very very difficult to read the tablature clearly. For the very first tablature presented, I ended up having to sit there and 'transcribe' it to paper while peering at the numbers, wondering if it was a "3" or a "5". Bleah. If the tab was perhaps formatted so it would automatically break-up into sections, like only a couple staff lines presented, as the page-text was enlarged, I wouldn't have an issue, but with 5 or so staff lines on one page, nuh-uh.

Does not have cd samples that the book contains Aug 19, 2010
By Yoda's evil twin I rated this low, not for the book contents, but because it does not contain the music examples of the songs. This is included on a cd in the book version but not on the electronic kindle version. Since I use kindle on my iPad, I can play the music... If it was included. The music should have been included as mp3 files or something but is not. This is a rip off. Buy the hardcover version, not the kindle version. It's a music instruction book Amazon, include the music examples that the original contains, or at least clearly warn buyers the music files are missing. Please drag those responsible through cactus. Thank you.
