Excellent book for aspiring bass players! Jan 08, 2007 This book is a breath of fresh bass tonal air! It is one of the few books out there that gets into the real essentials of bass playing-including triads, all of the essential scales (the "church" scales, blues, and pentatonics, to name a few...). All examples are in tab or notation. In addition, there are fingering charts for each scale and mode. This book also goes in depth into chords - again, with fingerings and tab and notation. All in all, this book is one of the best resources for advancing bass players who want more than "playing by ear." I highly recommend this book for all bass players! Hats off to the author for this one!
