About The Awful

I was bored on the 9th of Octover 1940 when, I believe, the Nasties were still booming us led by Madolf Heatlump (who only had one). Anyway they didn't get me. I attended to varicous schools in Liddypol. And still didn't pass -- much to my Aunties supplies. As a member of the most publified Beatles my (P, G, and R's) records might seem funnier to some of you than this book, but as far as I'm conceived this correction of short writty is the most wonderfoul larf I've every ready.

God help and breed you all.

5A lovely book, funny and everlasting.  Mar 07, 1999
A wonderful book that I have enjoyed since I purchased it back in the sixties. I quote the book often. The humor is priceless and will last forever. The world lost a gem, it's too bad he didn't live to write more than he did.

5Wonderful, not just because it's John Lennon  Feb 16, 2007 By Ethan Ballard "eballar"
Don't let these other reviewers scare you. You don't need to worship John Lennon to enjoy this book. Even if you don't like the Beatles, it is really great reading. In particluar, I think the poem 'Deaf Ted, Danoota, and Me' shows real talent.

5Twisted and wonderful as ever!  Aug 15, 1999
I bought this book 35 years ago for 2.50, and it is still worth every penny you will pay for it today. The humor and humanity are as barbed and poignant as I remember them, and even moreso.

5Great Fun!  Jan 04, 2001 By Lesley West
Anything written by John Lennon is worth having - he was a gem. This is funny and caustic and enlightening, and will adorn any book shelf. I can also highly recommend "A Spaniard In the Works", which is my personal favourite, but hey, why not have both?

5John Lennon in His Own Write  Dec 13, 2000 By Annette Bostwick
I had this book when it first came out, being an avowed Beatle-maniac. His creativity inspired me to pursue writing as a career. John has his own language which will endure. The world lost his creative genius, but his words and drawings live on. A must buy for Lennon-philes everywhere.
