3"Okay" if you want to get a sense of the songs  Jul 28, 2008
This album is great, so I was excited to get this book and try my hand at jammin with H&TB. No such luck.

I should've known that usually when a book reads "for Piano and Guitar" it means NO TAB. And that's what this one is.

The score, while mostly accurate, leaves out ALL of the solos (you just get the "2nd guitar chords").

I can forgive the occasional error -- people make mistakes after all, so it is obvious that when the score says "G" it really means "Em7" because the rest of the song is played that way. No big deal (just keep a pencil handy on your music stand).

What is ABSOLUTELY UNFORGIVABLE is when whole phrases are left out. Look at "Time"; ending 2 really needs to be 2a, 2b, and 2c. You have to listen to the actual music and follow along with the score to see where they left out the bits. It is annoying to have to photocopy the score, then use old-school cut 'n' paste to correct what should've never left the printer's premises. If ONE PERSON had actually queued up the CD and played along with it, using this score, they would've instantly seen where the problems occur. But they didn't. If you buy this, you'll have to do the work if you want to stay true to the song.

If you're playing by yourself, no biggie, but if you do this in a club people will hear that you left something out. They'll get mad and throw something. Better wear a helmet!

This is a nice book for fans of the group who want to learn to play the songs.
