Lots of fun, songs sound great May 11, 2008
By Learning All The Time
"It's Never Too Late to be what you might have been..."
I love the Hal Leonard fingerpicking books because the songs sound great and are pretty easy to learn. The books include TAB, chords, and standard music notation. I like to learn the songs with the TAB, and then use the standard notation when I practice so that I don't lose my limited music reading skills. I also find very few inconsistencies between the TAB and notation in the Hal Leonard books, which is not the case in some of the other classical finger picking books I own.
This book assumes you'll know what to do with your right picking hand, there is no i-m-a fingering. That is my one suggestion for the publishers -- that they include a few suggested i-m-a fingerings at the start of the song, or, even better, show some of the common picking patterns used in the song for those of us who are still beginners trying to stretch into some more advanced material (the book calls itself an intermediate book).
The songs included are: Behind Blue Eyes, Best of My Love, Blowing in the Wind, The Boxer, Dust in the Wind, Helplessly Hoping, Hey Jude, In My Life, Learning To Fly, Leaving on a Jet Plante, Patience, Tears in Heaven, This Land is Your Land, Time in a Bottle, and You've Got a Friend.
That is about 50 cents a song, you can't go wrong with this collection.
I'll post a link to my YouTube site when I get a song from the book posted.

Nice Arrangements, Easy TAB Notation Mar 08, 2007
By R. DeProspo This is the third book in this series by Hal Leonard that I have purchased. These are really nice arrangements with easy to follow TAB notation. I would recommend this for intermediate level guitarists who are looking to develop their skils with fingerstyle arpeggios.

Well done Sep 10, 2011
By Mike
"Humans are people too."
Personally, I 'm only familiar with a couple of tunes in this book (perhaps the rest are great, don't know yet).
The book's tunes are bulletproof, in that they have chords, standard notation and tab, as well as lyrics.
Tab is arranged so that one can play the tunes with simplicity.
HIGHLY recommend you YouTube Eltjo Haselhoff and see his How to Play Fingerstyle Guitar preview. I ordered the DVD from customerservice@peghead.nl and I'm thrilled with his instruction. Also see his yearly "Christmas greetings" they're fun to watch.

Well Done And Useful Oct 21, 2009

This is a great book with quite a few songs you'll recognize and some older material. The TAB is easy to use and the arrangements are faithful to the original. This book is worth the money.
