 Comprehensive, understandable, useful guide to banjo repair Sep 07, 1998
Starting with an overview of the instrument, the book then proceeds with detailed instructions on set-up and repair, Novices will not be threatened by the contents; experts will not be offended.

A great book in many ways May 25, 2004
Not only is this book packed with info on banjo repair, the author gives the best (but brief) explaination of equal temperament I've read. This book is a gem!

My wife purchased this book in hopes that I would be able to do some simple adjustments to her banjo. I am generally able to tackle any handyman task but I found this book to be written to the expert. Be advised it is not helpful to the average person wishing to do simple things like change strings, adjust the banjo head etc.

I bought a used banjo and wanted to have a resource handy in case I needed to make any repairs. This book is very comprehensive and easy to follow. Great reference!

As a novice/ self taught picker, I think book is very helpful. Clearly explained and illustrated. Great when you don't live around the corner from a repair shop, or don't want to spend (or have) the money for what may be simple repairs or adjustments.
