A good place to begin if you're about to play big band bass May 01, 2005 Those bassists who can read music and improvise a simple walking line, but need an introduction to the conventions of reading big band charts need look no further than this book. I found it quite handy as both a reference and to refamiliarize myself with things I'd forgotten when I was suddenly called on to play in a big band.
