Whether you are producing an audio CD, a multimedia application, a movie, or a television program, there are many stages of production that you need to consider before your project is complete and sounds professional. The audio post-production process formerly required huge audio post-production facilities with massive film and/or video synchronizing machines and other expensive hardware. These days, professional audio post-production can be done using inexpensive hardware and software inside a home or project studio. Audio Post-Production in Your Project Studio teaches you how to deliver professional-quality audio post-production projects using these readily available tools. Topics of discussion include editing, software effects, mixing, monitoring, software mastering, running a successful project studio, and much more. Instruction is presented using a non-software-specific approach--the techniques discussed are applicable to any Digital Audio Workstation you choose. Whether you're an experienced musician just getting into post-production, a first-time project studio operator, or a hobbyist curious to learn more information, you'll find all the insights and knowledge you need to make your recordings sound professional.

5This Book Saved My Life  Feb 07, 2008 By R. Welch "Musician"
Ok, maybe "Saved my life" is an exaggeration, but I learned so much from this book. If you're even remotely interested in home recording do yourself a favor and buy this one.

Ok, you've written the perfect song. You've spent countless hours learning your recording software, and an additional amount of countless hours recording. No matter how good the song is, if it's mixed poorly it's going to stink.

How should I pan the lead vocal track? What EQ setting should I use for the keyboard? How much and what type of reverb will bring out the snare drum? How do I get rid of that little *POP* at the end of the second verse? This book answers all these and more, including a section understanding different types of agreements with production companies that you might encounter if you're doing professional work.

Casey Kim does a masterful job of conveying her experience in a useful and understandable way. From your first home recording to your job at a large Hollywood studio, this book will become the bible for any serious recording engineer.

I give it two thumbs up. Way to go Casey!

5Great  Sep 19, 2011 By TheHadgi
Awesome book. Bought this book at the start to familiarize my self with post production and standard tools for recording and mixing. Definitely comes in handy, as everything is explained in a very concise way that's great to read through. For someone starting out it might be tough to understand; but that's the territory with audio production/post production. I still consult this book and get something out of it, and when complemented with other materials this book forms the basis for most of my understanding of mixing. Big thumbs up, give it a read and let it guide you into audio post-production.

5Hardcore Editing  Jul 02, 2009 By Jacob Cremer
This book will equip you with the knowledge to deliver detailed, thorough audio that meets professional standards. Editing audio is an important stage that has yet to be given the celebrity status that mixing and production have long received. Learn how to edit and you will find a new and fulfilling artistic contribution to the recorded music.

Audio Post-Production is constantly intriguing. It will motivate you to do the hard work required for a professional recording.
