4Marketing can be complicated unless you have this book  Jan 12, 2006 By jblumenstock "Imagination Specialist"
Marketing can be anything but simple until you understand the basic concepts. From test marketing to book sales this book has great information. Mark Ortman takes you through the entire process and gives great resources for each section along the way. This is the first book I read on marketing and still reference material from this book.

4Simple Ideas to get you started  Oct 09, 2001 By Vicki M. Taylor "author and reader"
If you haven't read anything else about marketing your book, then this is a good place to start. I've included it in my box of resources and I recommend it to my writing group.

2Too sparse  Jan 18, 2002
This is really nothing more than a directory. It is useful but the bottom line is that this is just an overpriced list of phone numbers and websites.

5Bottom Line Essential Information  Jan 29, 2001 By Kirk VandenBerghe "kirkvan"
Most new authors are shocked when they discover that they have to play a very active part in marketing their book. Sure, the major publishing houses provide massive marketing muscle for titles from their A-List authors. It's a fact that the vast majority of marketing funds are allocated to best-selling authors. For the rest of us, "A Simple Guide to Marketing Your Book" contains street-wise tips from someone who knows what he's talking about. There's no fluff or filler; just condensed and practical information to help us get the job done.

5Concise information, well stated  Mar 22, 2002 By Brian Templeton
I'm currently working on two ideas for non-fiction books. One is about current use (and mis-use) of English, the other a book of quotations.
I found this book to be very helpful. I liked that it put things in as concise a manner as possible, getting directly to the point.
I'd recommend it to anyone who's into publishing, self-publishing or marketing of a book. By reading this first, you'll probably save yourself from making mistakes and wasting money on wrong turns.
So, I'd say to check it out before proceeding further with your book idea.
