My Favorite Banjo Songbook Jun 19, 2009

Wonderful song selection, and outstanding presentation of the music, words and tablature. Thankfully, this is the very first banjo songbook I bought when learning to play. This book helped me learn where the notes were located even better than the insruction manual I purchased, because this book by Jack Hatfield presents the songs with Words, Tablature AND Standard Notation (music staff with melody notes). This is the only banjo songbook I've found which includes all three. Within a day and a half of using this book in learning to play, I knew where the notes were on the banjo and could play even melody lines from a regular hymnal without tablature ... thanks to the way the material in this book is presented. Recommended highly for beginners for that reason, as it is a great learning tool. Tablature is also given for Intermediate and Advanced Level banjo players.
